Company Bio's

 Zurab Dudashvili

Born and raised in Tbilisi, the Republic of Georgia, Zurab is a Principal Artist in the Georgian National Ballet (Sukhishvili). He became a student in the junior dancing ensemble “GORDA,“ and graduated in 1996 and enrolled in the Georgian State Choreographic School that same year. In 2001 Zurab became a Principal Artist in the Georgian State Academic Ensemble of Dancing and Singing (“RUSTAVI”). In 2004, he performed with the Georgian State Dance Company as a Principal Dancer. Zurab has performed around the globe and most recently, as a principal artist on the Middle Eastern Dance Spectacle and BDE’s International Tour in 2010. Zurab first performed with the Presidio Dance Theatre in 2009.

Avtandil Kurashvili

A native of the Republic of Georgia, Avtandil began his training at the age of 5 at the Georgian State Choreographic School of Sukhishvili-Ramishvili. By age ten, he was a soloist at the Tskaltubo National Ensemble. Avtandil won the Gold Medal at the prestigious Kremlin Folk Dance Competition in Moscow in 1989. In 2003, he was invited to join the GEORGIAN NATIONAL BALLET SUKHISHVILI, recognized as one of the world’s premier dance companies.  During his time with the ballet, Avtandil was featured in over 1000 performances and he was given the unprecedented honor of choreographing his own pieces, still performed today. Avtandil has performed in over 40 countries and in almost every state of the USA.  He has performed for a number of national dignitaries.  Avtandil has been with PDT since 2008, performing in the Spring Seasons.

Vakhtangi “Vakho” Loseliani

A native of Kutaisi in the Republic of Georgia, Vakho was trained at the Fine Arts Lyceum. He danced with the National Ballet of Georgia (Sukhishvili) for 7 years. He continues to perform as an international guest artist. 

Andrew Leathers

From Woodland, California, Andrew was first introduced to dance through his passion for musical theater. He performed in An Evening in December at Sacramento’s Memorial Auditorium for ten years. During the summers, he toured across California and Canada, involved with theater and performed at the Woodland Opera House in productions such as Damn Yankees, Anything Goes and Gypsy, amongst others. Currently, Andrew continues to train in ballet, contemporary dance, Silvestre Technique, and Afro-Brazilian dance.

Norberto Martinez

Norberto was born in Mérida, Yucatán, México. He trained in Modern Dance and Classical Ballet, Mexican Folk and Character Dances. Norberto is a costume Designer for many local dance companies in the Bay Area.  He has performed professionally in Europe, South America, México and The United States, sharing his passion of dance. Norberto is a founding company member with PDT since 2006. He serves as Folkloric Choreographer, Master Teacher, and Principal Artist.

Alberto Morales

Alberto is a Mexican folkloric dancer, by training, and began his studies at Teocalli Cultural Academy under the direction of Maestro Julio Bustos in 1995. He has since danced with Ensambles Ballet Folklórico de San Francisco, Presidio Dance Theatre, and Collage Dance Ensemble (Boston). Alberto currently dances with Compañía México Danza and Bay Pointe Ballet’s Nutcracker. Alberto is a founding company member with PDT since 2006.  He has toured with PDT and performed in Winter and Spring Season performances as a Principal Artist.

Armando Lepe

Trained in Folklorico Ballet throughout his youth, Armando began studying classical Ballet in 2008 at the San Francisco Academy of Ballet under the direction of ballet masters Richard Gibson and Zory Karah. Armando has performed internationally with various companies including Bay Pointe Ballet, Presidio Dance Theater, Collage West Ensamble, Compania Mexico Danza, Peninsula Ballet Theatre and Ensambles Ballet Folklorico of San Francisco. Armando is delighted to be part of this wonderful production. Edgar has been with PDT since 2009.  

James Sarria

James is a passionate dancer of Afro- Brazilian dance with Grupo Tania Santiago. James is a student of Ballet, Afro-Brazilian dance, and practices Capoeira with Mestre Cafu. He performs statewide in numerous dance special events and festivals.  He is looking forward to the World Premiere performance with Presidio Dance Theatre.

Justine Rockwood

Justine studied ballet and performed with Presidio Dance Theatre while in high school.  Justine then trained at the Kirov Academy of Ballet in Washington DC with Ludmila Morkovina, a protégé of Vaganova.  She began teaching with Presidio Dance Theatre in 2012, and led the Summer Young Artists program.  Justine graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of San Francisco with the highest honors.   Justine has performed with Presidio Dance Theatre in numerous productions, including performances abroad in Paris and Brussels.  She is now Ballet Mistress and Assistant to the Artistic Director.   

Anna Kroeker

Native to San Jose, California, Anna started her training at Ballet San Jose. At age 16, she was handpicked to attend The Kirov Academy of Ballet and was first to receive the Kirov Academy's "Perseverance Award." She attended American Ballet Theatre's Collegiate Program in New York City where she danced in Prologue from Sleeping Beauty and Bound, a contemporary work. She has performed roles in Esmeralda, Clara in Nutcracker, Fausto as well as other classical and contemporary pieces.

Shaina Leibson

Shaina trained with the Massachusetts Youth Ballet, San Francisco Ballet School, and London Studio Centre in England. She danced professionally with Alberta Ballet, Ballet Austin and was a member of Ballet San Jose from 2005-2012. Shaina also danced with Ballett im Revier in Germany. Shaina has performed in many ballets including works by Balanchine, Wheeldon, Tudor, Ashton, Dennis Nahat, Bridget Briner, Jiri Bubenicek and many others.

Annalise Thompson

Annalise studied classical ballet at Marin Dance Theatre, under Margaret Swarthout and Lynn Cox. In 2012, she received her BFA in Dance from The Juilliard School, where she performed works by José Limón, Jerome Robbins, Bronislava Nijinksa, Ohad Naharin and several new works including Episode 31, by Alexander Ekman. She has spent summers at Lines Ballet, American Ballet Theatre and Hubbard Street. Her latest roles include Dewdrop Fairy in Western Ballet’s Nutcracker and the main character in Cole Companion’s Allegory of the Cave.

Hillary Mimnaugh

Born and raised in Sacramento, California, Hillary received her training at Pamela Hayes Classical Ballet. She continued her dance training at Dartmouth College and also studied in Buenos Aires, Argentina under scholarship. Hillary has worked as a guest artist for the Sacramento Opera and Pamela Hayes. In San Francisco, she has danced with Peninsula Ballet, the DanceWright Project, and Santa Clara Ballet. She is thrilled to join Presidio Dance Theatre for the premier of The Little Lantern®.

Meghan Fabian

Meghan began her training in the Bay Area at Lamorinda Ballet Centre under Lynne Homeres and Contra Costa Ballet with Zola Dishong, Richard Cammack, and Charles Anderson.  She attended the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB) where she earned two degrees, Bachelor of Arts with honors in Dance and Psychology.  From 2011 to 2012, Meghan was a member of the UCSB Dance Company, touring California, New York, and Italy. Upon graduation, Meghan moved back to the San Francisco Bay Area and danced professionally with Santa Clara Ballet.

Ana Robles

Ana trained at the School of Ballet of Camara de Jalisco, and the Catedra of the National Ballet of Cuba. She was an apprentice with the National Ballet of Cuba, and has danced professionally with Cuban Classical Ballet in Miami as well as South Florida Ballet as a guest artist. In 2007 Ana joined the Ballet de Monterrey in Mexico. Ana has been awarded a Fellowship for Artistic Development from the State of Jalisco. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Marketing from the University of Guadalajara. In the Bay Area, Ana has danced with Peninsula Ballet Theatre, Mudita Arts for Peace, Labayen Dance SF, and Oakland Ballet.

Lara Jean Mummert

Lara holds a BFA Dance Summa Cum Laude, SUNY Purchase. She trained with San Francisco Ballet and Alonzo King’s Lines Ballet (1999-2009), Sonya Teyah and Chris Jacobsen. Lara worked for the Oxygen Network as a dancer/singer for the glee project press events and has performed the role of Elmo in the national tour of Sesame Street Live: Can’t Stop Singing. At PDT, she teaches Musical Theatre, Hip-hop and Dance Combo classes at PDT.
