Presidio Dance Theatre and Paintbrush Diplomacycollaborate to present “Dancing Across Cultures,” which showcases the international collection of children’s costumes designed by the artists and designers of the Kirov Ballet (Mariinsky Theatre) of Saint Petersburg, and others, especially for the company. Paintbrush Diplomacy’s 20-year international children’s art collection is also showcased, coordinating artwork with national costumes. It gives children the opportunity to imagine, through color, texture, sound, and movement, what life is like for other young people around the world. Presidio Performing Arts Foundation has sponsored the exhibitions with support from the Shulte and McKesson Foundations, California Arts Council, and Macy’s West for the public at the Herbst International Exhibition Hall; Macy’s Windows at Union Square, Community Day for the Arts; and the Ferry Building. Next exhibition will be at the San Francisco International Airport. Please check out the following two videos: DANCING ACROSS CULTURES™ Costume SketchesDANCING ACROSS CULTURES™ Costume Exhibit |
